Our History
Since 1956, El Monte Community Credit Union has had a long-standing history of helping members reach their financial dreams. We were originally chartered by a group of city employees as El Monte City Employees Credit Union. Our first office was a city workers garage. If you needed a loan back in those days your name was put on a loan wait list. Once the deposits came in for the month, the manager determined if there was enough money to make loans.
Who we are Today
El Monte Community Credit Union now serves people who live, work, or worship in the cities of El Monte, South El Monte, Baldwin Park, Rosemead, and Irwindale. Our current financial assets are almost 30 million and we serve our approximately 4,000 members with pride.
